Hey guys, I'm brand new to this site, but have been an avid mustang owner for the past 5-6 years. Here's my problem, I have a '65 mustang coupe with a bunch of mods; 289 stroked to 347, bored and stroked, notched and milled, heads ported and polished, dyno flowed to properly match a cam, 750 and edelbrock perfomer intake, mustang II front suspension with disc brake conversion and power rack and pinion.
Now comes the problem... my car originally has a c-4 that I just rebuilt (don't worry I am ATRA certified) and installed a transgo performance shift kit, but then decided that I wanted to swap out the sluggish rear end with something a little more inkeeping with the front half of the stang, I was thinking maybe 411's or maybe even higher. Now I realize that there is no way I will be able to put this through my c-4 and have any type of top end and I also happened to find a T56 out of a 2004 viper really cheap... now I realize the bellhousing wont work without an adapter plate, and I'm going to need to shorten the drive shaft, and cut a new hole for the shifter, but does anyone else know what all this entails, or even a place where I can find a full or even partial kit? I really appreciate any help you guys can give me Thanks PS. the C-4 is now for sale if anyone is interested, it's solid and fast the shifts are crisp and quick, and it was professionally (not that I'm bragging) rebuilt |

Get ahold of this guy . Mike Forte is the Ford trans guru. He'll probably have the parts you need, or atleast know what and where to get it.

Re: New member; desperate
You might consider this solution. It worked for me with C4 and 3.80 gears.
