ADVICE ON CL 76MM MAF
 

I JUST INSTALLED A CL 76MM MAF. THE INSTRUCTIONS RECOMEND SHIELDING MY K&N 12IN. CONICAL FILTER FROM FAN WASH.THIS IS TO PREVENT SURGING IDLE.ANY IDEAS ON WHAT MATERIALS TO USE?

You could prob use a piece of duct work and cut it in half...just a idea

Might I recommend a call to Holcomb Motorsports, they sell a pre-fabricated Heat Shield for such Filters. It looks very very nice.

Maybe a bit more then the home-made stuff you could do.

Well I had a nice bent Lexan sheild covering my K&N and I could not get it to run, so I went back to the stock airbox and it runs so much better, idle and throttle response. I am working on a polished stainless steel unit to cover the 12" K&N but it will work like the stock assembly and hopefully work as good.

I have the Iceman cold air system which relocates the mass air meter and the k&n filter into the right side fenderwell. i am also using the c&l 76mm mass air and I am very pleased with it.
