World iron heads big problem help please!!
 

I started to put my motor back together today and ran into what looks like a big problem. The bolt hole for the power steering pump( the long stud) is off center and is to big. This is hard to explain,but it looks like it should go into the smog tube that runs through the head. I thought about drilling a hole and tapping it, but the smog tube inside the hole is off center. What are some of you guys doing about this problem? I'm lost.

you need the threaded inserts to go in those holes. if you needed to bad enough, you could probably get the ones out of your factory heads.

Pat, Mine were the same way, just use the ones from your stockers, Just relax it will all be O.K. K.S.

I did notice a insert in the old heads. I will check Sunday, but it lookes like if I have the stud centered in the hole it would not line up with the bracket. I hope I'm wrong.Thanks guys.
