1994 stock gt looking for some muscle

I have a 1994 gt that is pretty much stock except for flowmaster 40 series, an h pipe, and a steeda air pump eliminator. I am looking to start adding a lot of power to my mustang and get the stock aode out there for a manual tranny, but I am scared because my car has 120,000 miles on it. I live in florida, and I dont know where to bring my car. I would like to rebuild my engine and supercharge it, or even swap out my engine. I really do not know where to start. I need some feedback from people that have been where I am right now. Any help is appreciated.

You have a Pushrod 5.0 if the car is a 1994.

Ya, I know my engine, but I was just wondering things such as is putting a supercharger on a 302 5.0 with 120,000 going to mess it up, or should I rebuild it with forged internals before supercharging it. Or should I just save up for a whole new motor. I also need to find a place in florida that has done this kind of thing many times.

It depends. I've seen people put blowers on 100k+ pushrods without a problem. You need to do a compression test and start from there. FWIW, the windsor power or power adder sections will be able to give you better tips.

Adding a supercharger is expensive (however very well worth it!). I would first go with the rebuild and just do the basics. Mild cam, intake and exhaust, headers of course. These little 302's make good power, especially when rebuilt right and tuned. Work on your drivetrain and if that isn't enough, add the 3000 buck 100 horse monster. Just my 2 cents though. really depends on how your want to drive it.

you don't say where in Fl you live, I also live in Fla. For now Nitros with about a 75 horse shot would make a difference , any more than that you need different pistons, the older 302 before 93 had forged pistons and coulde handle more. we ran 150 shot on my sons 90 lx coupe with no problem. A friend of mine had over 150,000 miles on his 91 and ran a 150 shot for years with no problem. If you are going to rebuils your engine you ned to decide what you want to run , nitros, superchared etc because it makes a difference in what internals you use. good luck if I can hepl let me know , Ralph

nitrous until you blow the old motor...run the hell out of it and then its time to upgrade...nothing is cheaper than nitrous for more HP
