A/C REMOVE OR ?
what to do with the air cond. lines, condenser, exchanger etc. after it has lost its charge. I am going to start adding performance parts to the car soon and it seems that this stuff will just be in the way. What do most do with there air when they start building it up for street/strip use.

I got rid of my air for the weight reduction along with the room for easier working. If you pull all of the air components you may be able to get 50-75lbs out of the car. Personally my car isn't a daily driver so I don't need the air. But if you really drive it I would reconsider.

I cut rip a tare them out but that is just me.

I removed the AC and everything that goes with it on both of my cars. Kind of wish I would have left the ac on the convertible. If it's going to be a daily driver I would keep it on. You can alway's take it off later if you are scavenging for weight reduction.

ONLY take out the A/C if you do not use this for your daily driver. If your plans are to build this car up for allot of strip action, then get all of that stuff out from under the hood. Makes for ALLOT of room under there. Of course next to go is P/S and P/B, run manual everything like what I do, I love it. Of course I don't drive my car anywhere http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif except up and down the dragstrip.
Best advice for people who say they want to "Build a Street/Strip" car, your first investment should be a cheap daily driver to get you to and from work. Cause when you have torn into the car late one night and you have to get it all put back together before morning so it can get you to work......well.....that just plain SUCKS! I drive a little econo honda everyday and it does the job. That way I can tear into my car anytime without worrying about it having to be my daily ride. James |
Thanks everyone, i think i will remove it. I have 3 cars and 1 truck, all run. so down time is not a problem. thanks again.

I removed mine on my daily driver, because it didn't work anymore and it needed more than a recharge. Its not too difficult at all, however, I would say removing the compressor, lines, condenser, and accumulator saves 30-40 lbs, not 50-75. Also, I went with the march A/C delete kit which works well.
