replacing wheel studs
can anyone help me with instructions on how to replace the rear studs on a 90GT. i know this is a pretty easy job but i'm not the best mechanic, and i don't want to spend money on something i could do by myself.
yesterday i replaced my fuel pump and i was going to do the wheel studs the same day but i couldn't figure it out. someone please help. |
Re: replacing wheel studs
I would just support the rotor or drum and drive the stud out with a hammer. I've done that before on another car and then just driven a new one back in. Torqueing down the new stud onto the wheel fully seated the new stud. Worked for me.

Re: replacing wheel studs
When You Insatll Them Put The Nut On Backwards Without The Wheel And Tighten Until Completely Seated,,,,,,,,,

Re: replacing wheel studs
I took my axles out and had them pressed in for about $20. It seems that using the nut to torque the studs in works for alot of people, but I was afraid it would stress the stud too much. Plus I already had the rearend apart to add gears.
