Are ceramic coated headers really worth the loot?
title says it all. what do you guys think?

Re: Are ceramic coated headers really worth the loot?
Yes, ceramic coated headers are well worth it. They last longer, run cooler, and the paint doesn't burn off and look crappy the first time you fire up the engine. I learned the hard way on my 65, before I get it back on the road I am getting ceramic coated headers.

Re: Are ceramic coated headers really worth the loot?
in short, yes.
My MAC LT's are jet-hot coated, and after a year of use they still look brand new. Plus when you actidentally touch them when hot, they don't give you quite as big of a burn as uncoated ones :D |
Re: Are ceramic coated headers really worth the loot?
We've got MAC LT's and recently got them jet-hot coated. We didn't go that route when headers were new, due to the cost. After seeing the MAC headers after 1 year's of use, the coating has flaked off and headers are rusting. We sent them off to jet-hot and they blasted the headers and coated them. They look brand spanking new!

Got the JetHot coating on day one... as I knew I would do it sooner or later. Might as well do it right the first time.

Drudis, what is that red tube attached to the oil sending tube? I want to run my stock gauge along with a real oil gauge. Can it be done this way?

Yes, I have the Jet-Hot coated MAC for P heads and it was well worth it. |
