What distributor to use

I have been having trouble with my stock distributor it will just cut out under full load and come back. Now it is dead I tried replacing the module and nothing,so I just want to replace it all together with a good aftermarket, the is a 89 5.0, I just want to eliminate the computer hookup to the distributor and go either mechanical or vacum advance. I have a Crane ignition box and coil. what distributor works great in the 5.0 that is not connected to the computer.
Thanks

I have msd8582(I think)Mech advance, works in conjunction with my msd box and blaster3 coil. It's a stand alone system. Pain to get the correct roller gear installed. sent it to msd to be changed took almost 2 mos, to get it back...but now all is good.
