Re: New Block Or Not?????
I'd keep the stock block and put a 331 stroker kit in it. If the engine has been maintained well, it should clean up at .030 over. Just boring it .030 over is not going to give you that shove you are asking for. But when you rebuild the engine and put a good top end on it, you will get that shove you are looking for.

Re: New Block Or Not?????
Yeppers, IEC nailed it again. Even if you have to go .040" over, still not a big deal. Throw in that stroker crank, and you'll have a 333. That's what we have in our 2nd car, and it RIPS! 11.50's all day long.......

Re: New Block Or Not?????
Heres what (I) do.
I take my blocks to the machine shop before I do anything. Then they determine for me what it needs. Also what all the other parts need aswell. Look at the ridge. That will give you a general idea of what the shop will want to do. When I buy blocks, I use that as a guidline. It might need a hone, a bore or the garbage can. Let them figure it out. |
Re: New Block Or Not?????
Thanks For The Info Guys! I Might Just Stroke It Out To A 331 Or A 333. But Wats The Difference??? I Know That The 333 Os 2 Over Than The 331 But Does That Make A Difference???
