Need to decide: 3.55 or 3.73

Ok, I know in the past it seems that 90% of you have recommended the 3.73s. BUT, I use my car as a daily driver (about 40 miles a day - highway) and was wondering if 3.55s might be a better idea for me. I don't plan on doing much racing with the car when its done. At the most a few times a year. Also, my engine has about 120,000 miles on it. I was always told that you start building a car from the rear and work your way forward. Trans and motor will probably get done next spring. Will 3.73s put to much strain on my tired motor in the mean time??

Not at all, the RPM difference at cruising speed (65 mph) is quite small. Go for it.

Personally, I prefer (and have) 3:55 gears, as I think they are just a better all-around gear for 5.0's that are mildly modified and don't do much racing, but I also agree that 3:73's give the maximum kick for the buck and I wouldn't advise against them in your case.
