Rear sway bar?
 

How important is it to have the rear sway bar on? I notice some cars at the strip have 'em on, some don't. Is it a must to keep the rearend located properly? or can I do without it? :confused: thanks.

Take the front one off, leave the back on.

That's what I figured too. I don't have the sway bar, and can't seem to find one. I have not seen a fox mustang in a scrap yard for a few years now...

You Can Leave The Front Sway Bar On Just Put On Longer End Links Or Stabel. Pins......people Take Them Off For Weight Reduction...........longer End Links Will Allow The Front To Fully Unload...........

I have no plans on a front sway bar. I can't find a old stock rear. I was going to just take the one of my convert and swap back and forth being my lx is only used at the track. "not all too often" But it's a pain to swap them, so then I noticed some 5.0's not using a rear sway bar at all that's why I'm questioning the importance of it. I guess I'd better start looking harder for one.

I think I still have my stock rear sway bar somewhere in the garage. I run Lakewood traction bars so I had to yank it. PM me if you are interested.

The rear swaybar is on v 8's for better handling. The 4 bangers never had em from the factory. When I used to have a 4 banger and put on a sway bar, it made a big difference in handling. I dont thinks its really required though, just that the v8's had the handling suspension.
