I Need Help
 

i just bought a 84 gt with rear end noise and i need to know which rearend came in the 84. If it is an 8.8 will stuff out of a new 8.8 work cause everything say 86-93 for the 8.8 PLEASE HELP

The 7.5 rear end came in that car. An 8.8 housing will bolt up. Got to do some brake line switching, I think. What's the noise?

If It Sounds Like A Winding Noise Its Inside The Differential Case!! I Whent To The Junk Yard To Get An Axle To Install My 3.73's In It And I Put It On The Car Just Before I Installed The Ring And Pinion And There Was A Noise Pretty Loud When I Was On The Highway! I Would Give It A Little Gas And Let Go And It Would Start Hetting Louder. I Would Go To The Junk Yard And Find Yourself An 86-93 Mustang 5.0 And Take That Axle!

Camaro Muncher is 137% right, that's a 7.5 IF IT'S FACTORY.

WHINING is ring/pinion problem. CLUNK is bearing/u-joint problem.
