K.B Blower question.

I have an 01 Lightning. TEA RACE ported heads. Stage 3 comp cams. 550 lift 244 dur@ 50. Built the engine 9 to 1 comp. Ported lower intake, Sheet metal upper.
Question. I am running a 8 # lower 9" I believe and a 2.7 upper. this should be netting me 20# or so boost, yet I am only seeing 17#. Could the heads and motor be flowing that well?

could be or your belt may be slipping at high rpms- look for black dust around the pulley area

that might be it, belt gets really hot. Have a new belt comming in and a 10# lower :)

Have you datalogged anything with the setup? There are two things that I can think of right off the bat that may affect your power level outside of the mechanical pulley relationship. (1) the computer will only recognize an engine load (volumetric efficiency) of 2.0 which will be reached somewhere around 16 pounds of boost. Unless your tuner has renormalized the load tables you might be peaked in the PCM algorithms. (2) A factor of the first is that once beyond the load limit the computer may be reverting to the Load_with_failed_MAF tables and limiting fuel delivery. Datalog load, fuel delivery, injector pulsewidth/duty cycle and fuel pump duty cycle when you're under max boost to be sure that you're getting the fuel delivery that you think you should. How is your A/F (wideband) as you get near the peak boost?

Well, we are keeping 12 to 1 fuel all the way up to 5400 rpm, Not going any higher to keep tyhe blower healthy. Duty cycles on the 50# injectors arent anywhere near peaking. We're data logging with an xcal 2 and doing air fuel with the dynos sniffer screwed into the exhaust directly after the collector. I think thoughthat I have some un metered air comming in and belt slippage. but Ill have to get under the hood and start looking.
