Cold Air Bypass Valve ??

Has anyone tried the cold air bypass valve that goes in between the filter and the MAF ??
If so how well does it work?
What brand are you using?
How easy is it to clean?
Thanks,

More info needed here bro. I'm a CARB guy, and I gotta know some more info.

All the fuelie motors came with a factory Idle Air Bypass, so just exactly what are you talking about here man?

I just noticed this lately and it is offered by AEM below is the link to their site explaining it .......it seems that it may help supply more air , faster in wide open throttle when first launching or when merging into traffic from an on ramp say to the turnpike where the traffic is moving at 60 mph plus.

I think you need to go back and read what the valve is intended for. Its to keep a cold air intake system that is mounted low enough that if, in rainey road conditions or if you hit a big MUD puddle and get water into the intake, it will then open and keep you from getting water in the engine. I assume that you are thinking that if you had that valve it would open letting more air in at wide open throttle and there for more power. From the info at the web site the only time that valve should open, is if there is a restriction in the air filter or (I guess any where below the valve). If your already running a cold air intake on your car, then the engine is getting a nice supply of cold air. Your going to put this valve under the hood in the HOT engine bay. Now when the valve opens the extra air your getting is going to be hot, (and only filtered from a foam filter) there for hurting your power. The valve has its use, but not for what I think your thinking itll do for you. Just my opinion.

One other note. If your running Mass Air that valve will have to go in between the the Air Filter and the Mass Air Sensor.
