one last enigine question (hopefully)
As many of you have read before, i have been asking about different aftermarket heads and your opinions. I am now ready to go for it and i want your thoughts, please!!
I have a 90 5.0 out of a Lincoln town car with the speed density system. For my application i do not want to switch over to mass air, at this point anyway. It is not the H.O variety but i understand that with my upgrades it will be basically the same. I have an E-cam and a full upper and lower intake from a Mustang. Also, the ECM to match. My question is this: What would you guys do as far as heads? Hopefully the heads will come complete with rockers and those goodies so i don't have to mess with that. I don't want anything too wild and crazy, but just a nice upgrade. Thanks a bunch guys!! |
Re: one last enigine question (hopefully)
I think you're going to HAVE to switch to MAF.

Re: one last enigine question (hopefully)
E-cam works great with speed density. Trust me I know ;) I used to run the same set-up I have now with speed density.
If you are running the stock mustang intake it will choke the hell out of good heads so you might as well stick with the stockers (E7's)or at most go with some GT-40's. I learned alot of tricks for running speed density with mods. If you have any trouble along the way post up or PM me. |
Re: one last enigine question (hopefully)
Yeah, I know people have gotten away with running some aftermarket cams with SD but I wasn't sure if it was possible to get away with aftermarket heads with SD.
I know,at some point, he's going to have to eventually switch. |
Re: one last enigine question (hopefully)
Goto a junk yard or ebay and get an upper and lower intake off of a Exlorer (96-?) and put on a new set of heads. That Intake is almost as powerful as the Cobra/GT40 and is dirt cheap! I'll be glad to see what kind of heads you get cos I'm in the same spot- I don't want to spend too much. Let us know!
