Fuel Regulator,or inline pump
Hows it goin',I am still working on changing my 4clylx to a 5.0,I ran into a question about fuel supply and was wondering if anyone had some advice? Should I use the pump in the tank and regulate it for the carb that I am using , or take the pump out and use a low pressure inline pump? thanks.

Re: Fuel Regulator,or inline pump
Ahhhh, my next student of fuel systems 101.
Get rid of the in tank pump, by an old school pickup. Nothing fancy needed for what you're doing. Buy a Holley Blue, and regulator, and you're good to go. :D |
Re: Fuel Regulator,or inline pump
I would advise against the Holley Blue pump if you're going to drive this on the street. They are waaay too loud!
I just recently installed one and I don't like it. I would recommend an electric one from Mallory instead of Holley. Jester is a Jedi master when it comes to fuel systems so I would and have listened to what he says about them. Sorry Bill, I hate the Holley Blue pumps. They might be ok for a race car but not a good choice for the street. Unless, of course, this IS a race car you're building....... |
Re: Fuel Regulator,or inline pump
So, whaddya take for the blue pump?

Re: Fuel Regulator,or inline pump
Thanks for the info ,I am planning on driving this next summer,I'm not arguing but why not use the factory pump that is in the tank now,My racing buddy has a Camaro that he done this with it works well.(for a camaro, lol). He has the factory pump in the tank with a holley inline regulator no noise and it will supply enough fuel to the carb.
