Points for a 66 289 2V auto

My 66 coupe is idling OK but has a real rough miss when the revs come up. One thing it could be is the contact points, they look shot. Fun and games trying to get someone who knows what I should put in this distributor in Australia. I have a set of Bosch GB700 but it(says fits 76-81 FordF100 , 250 and 30....this is a best guess, the young guy reckoned these would fit (i am not sure). Bosch does not stock or make anything older than 1968. All the stockists dont bother to carry them here even Ford Australia. Any ideas guys? This is a stock motor with what looks like a motocraft dist (non original as it is blue in color).

Thanks

Clinton

Get a Pertronix electronic ignition and you won't have to mess around with that stuff. It was the best $65 I ever spent on my car.

I'd also do the Pertronix retro fit. But...if the points for the Ford trucks you are looking at are for a V-8 they should fit. Just match them up by eye. All the single points for V-8's were the same.

The Pertronix is easier to install than points, there is no adjusting and the car runs loads better and consistently.
