Gas smell with AN hose

Does a fuel system done with all AN hose have a tendency to make the garage smell like gas all the time.
My garage always smells like gas now that my new fuel system has been finished. It's not like someone spilled a gas can but you can smell it. I checked and double checked and I have NO leaks anywhere.
Is this just something I'm going to have to put up with?

I have the same problem. Sometimes I'm leary about leaving my furnace on in the garage. I put one of those carb hats on the carb seemed to help a bit. plus if your fuel tank/cell vents to atmosphere try pluging the vent.. I did notice this summer with a tank of 110 garage didn't smell a bit.

AN is a type of fitting. It can be used with many types of hose and metal lines. AN fittings offer the best seal, so I doubt the fittings had anything to do with it, but it's possible that the hose is faulty. What type of fuel lines/hose are you using? As mentioned, if you added a vent to your tank/cell, that will definitely add a nice, gasoline aroma to your garage. Leaving the air cleaner off of your carb can add to it as well, but it wouldn't create an odor where there wasn't one before.

I'm using all Earl's plumbing. I have the stock fuel tank and pinched off the old pick up tube.
I just figured that maybe fuel fumes will permeate through the braided steel and rubber hoses.

I'm using all AN fittings and steel braided line in my setup. I never have any odor for what it's worth. Of course, I'm using an EFI setup so naturally I wouldn't have any odor near the engine bay unless I had problems. Good luck.
