The simpliest question about injectors
Look at my signature and tell me if you guys think the mass air/injector setup is too much right now. Would think be affecting my times?

I just took my 24lb injectors off from the advice of my tuner. I put my 19s back on (take a look at my signature and you'll see my combo, I've got a bit more than you right now).
It's better to have a smaller injector and raise the fuel pressure. It provides a better spray pattern from the injector. You may need to invest in an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. ------------------ Eric - 89 Mustang LX coupe 302 - Cobra Intake - GT40p heads - TFS stage 1 cam - FRPP 1.6 roller rockers - Naturally Aspirated 3:73 gears - KYB shocks and struts - Eibach springs - HPM Mega-bite Jr lower control arms - HPM upper control arms |
Whoops. I forgot to put that in my signature. I have an adjustable fuel regulator. I have seen replies on here before talking about injector size, but has anyone actually ran slower with bigger than needed injectors? If so, maybe thats why my times are lousy eh? So what do you think? Should I swap the injector/meter out for the stock ones? I don't want to mess with it if its unlikely to do anything.

I dunno. I was running 30's with 28 psi @ WOT. I switched to 24's with 38 psi. I picked up nothing on the dyno. The numbers came back the same.

Slow,
check out the article in the latest 5.0 magazine it has a great article on this very same subject. It has a formula to tell ya if you need bigger or smaller injectors. Sometime bigger is not better, maybe this is tru for you. Hope the article helps. |
