Possible to convert TKOII .83 5th gear to .68?
 

I was wondering if it was possible to convert a Tremec 3550 TKO II with .83od 5th gear to a .68 5th gear.

My Mustang rev's too high at high speeds (3.73 rear end) though acceleration is great.

What needs to be done to get the Tremec converted and who is the best at doing it?

YES, you're good to go, but, gotta clear you up on a few things first.

A Tremec 3550 IS NOT a TKOII. TKOII was the predicessor (sp.) to the TKO 500 and TKO 600. Different animals here dude. Almost NOTHING will interchange between the 3550 and TKO, including clutch, bellhousing, etc etc. But, you're still in good shape.

A TKO II already has a .68 OD, so we're gonna assume you have a 3550. Here's what you gotta do.......
