fuel filter problems

I have a 99 GT.
Trying to replace the fuel filter. Should be an easy job...
I can't get the filter detached from the fuel lines.
I pulled the clips, released the pressure as recommended, but can't get it disconnected. Pulling doesn't work.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

did the fuel filter have metal clips on it or were they white plastic horseshoe clips? if metel you need a fuel line removal tool size 5/16s i think or if plastic clips should come off. good luck

Re: fuel filter problems

Your car has duckbill type line locks and you need to use a fuel line lock release tool. About 8 bucks at any auto parts store. Do not try and seperate them by yanking on them, you ruin the locks and it is a pain in the arse to replace the fuel lines.
