rev limiter?

well for my bronco 2 i am thinking about installing a rev limiter, i need something that i can stand on the throttle and it will hold it at 5000 or so and not cut off fuel or do anything crzy that is going to hurt the motor. is there such thing? the stock rev limiter just cuts out fuel does it not? which would cause me to run lean and possibly fawk up my motor. i need to be able to put my foot all the way down and it just sit at a set rpm.

its a 95 mustang efi 302 if that makes a diff?

if there is such thing, please let me know!

Re: rev limiter?

you can use a MSD 6AL or digital 6 ignition box. This way you can set the RPM limit that cuts out spark sequentially, not fuel. You can either set the total rev limit to 5000, or you can wire up a "2-step" limiter that is only active when you're pushing a button. When you release the button, the limiter will increase to another limiter that you've set so you can go higher than 5000 if you want.
