malfunctioning tail-lights
 
my problem...when left turn signal is activated neither tail light flashes.when right turn signal is activated both tail lights flash.
help! where do i start and what to do? any response is greatly appreciated oh yeah, this ride is a 1966 mustang coupe

I've had the same problem even with a model made 35 years later...I think Ford screwed up in designing the wiring for the tailights in particular, I've always had the problem in both my 96 GT and now 01 GT with the rear blinkers coming out of sinc or the bulbs burning out. Check the fuses and make sure they're all ok, next replace any burned-out bulbs and see if its' only that and not the wiring...for $10 or $12, its' always worth it..the bulbs will never go to waste if you don't need them right away. Do '66 Mustangs also have that annoying seat belt problem?..The stupid thing is constantly jamming on me.

the 66 mustang was not manf'd with belts so there is no problem. but i'm planning on adding belts before it hits the road. once again thanks for the info and i will let u know how the tail-lights work out. glnadams
