306 vs 331

I'm looking at either a DSS or Kieth Craft 331, However I noticed it's about a $1000 cheaper for similarly setup 306. In a supercharged application is it worth it? Anyone had both that could comment on the improvements? thanks alot

Hell, if you've got a blower a well built 306 should be plenty. Yeah, a 331 will make more power...but the question is will it make $1000 worth of power? Somehow I doubt it. DSS advertises 10s with a well built 306and a blower. That's, what....around 450hp or so? Unless you're running heads up class racing would you really need more than that?

Youre trying to compare apples and oranges here. What your looking at is a 302 with a .030 overbore and a stroker motor. This is why you have a 1000 dollar difference. It comes down to what your looking for and how much HP your looking for.

I'm kinda confused by this. I have a DSS 331 & they didn't have a 306 with an aftermarket crank & Crower rods for $1000 less when I got mine last summer.

Hmmm... If you were starting from scratch I'd build the bigger motor. If you have all the components for a 306 and your running a blower, all things being equal (except for stroke) then its only a matter of 25 cubic inches and maybe another 25 hp?
