I need help
I am so close to cranking up with the turbo. I have had major issues with every step. Now another, the altenator. How do I wire this thing so that I can keep the same one I have. I know that the little single prong has to introduce 12 volts for the alt to start producing and of course the 10mm nut term goes to the batt, but where does the double plug go to now. ( I switched to a carb)
Also somone please ansewer my post in apperance & detailing. Thanks to all, Jason |
Re: I need help
Jason, read through this article http://www.mustangcentral.net/tech/alternator.html
It is for an EFI one, but should help out a bit. If I remember correctly, the small wire from that plug is jumped over to the spade connector, then the other 2 wires are actually just 2 10ga wires that get tied together. The article says they go to the solenoid, but also has a fuseable link inline. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...e/index2.shtml thats another good article. If you don't have those wires, you should have stuck with EFI! lol good luck -Drew |
Re: I need help
I'm alittle confused so you take the 2 10g wires tie them together and run with a fuse link to the starter solenoid, then run another wire from the soleniod back to the alternator?

Re: I need help
the two 10ga wires are just the hot lead to the solenoid, which essentially is to the battery. The black/white wire from the square plug that you cut off goes to the spade connector on the 3g. Read through the articles a few times and it will start to make sense.
