Need louder exhaust on 95 GT
We have a 95 GT, We put on bbk headers, and a cat back flowmasters with side exhaust. But still too quiet for us. I had the car at a muffler shop, they took off the mufflers, and the car still was not loud. I figure we need to put Hi-flow Cats, and leave the flowmasters. So I need Hi-flow Cats to replace the stock cats, any suggestions?

How do you get it past PA's strick state inspection?? Just run straight pipes...if that isn't loud enough, get a bigger engine. LOL

Off Road X-Pipe with an SLP Catback. If that is not too loud for you, you are deaf.....

Re: Need louder exhaust on 95 GT
Ok, this sounds fishy. You had the mufflers off and it wasn't loud enough? I had to drive around with open headers once with my little stock 289 and I let it coast to the muffler shop as much as possible because it was loud as hell. I think you should reconsider, louder isn't better. I guarantee that super loud exhaust will drive you up the wall sooner or later, not to mention give you permanent hearing damage. Just go for that nice throaty burble sound and you'll be fine.

Re: Need louder exhaust on 95 GT
Cats do make the car somewhat quieter. I don't have any on my '66 and use 3 chamber Flowmasters with Tri-Y's and 2 1/2" exhaust and it's still about as loud as I can stand it. And yes, I am somewhat deaf too, LOL.

Summit sells a Catco unit with only 2 hi-flow cats, and it sounds sweet. I'm running it with a Mac tru-fit system, and it's LOUD. I lived in Philly when I installed it and had no problems passing inspection. I you run no cats, you won't pass instection in PA..
