Fuel Pump Replacement
I have a stock motor that is fixing to be rebuilt and in my preparations of the new motor I am going to install a 190lph fuel pump to satisfy my upcoming motor's 24lb injectors. At 183,000 miles, I figure is is good insurance also (really didn't care until my fiancee's car quit on her while driving thanks to a old fuel pump).
Anyway can I swap the pump out for the bigger one by itself? Or will something else have to be changed also - namely will the stock fuel regulator handle the extra volume for a few months until the new motor and regulator land in the engine bay? Plus everyone offers a fuel pump - any brands to stay away from or that are recommended?? Thanks for the help. |
You can change the pump without worrying about other components.
I've only had one high volume fuel pump so I can't really give you any advice as to what brand. You probably can't go wrong with the Ford pump. ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible |
