how to make a 306?!
Ok now correct me if i am wrong here...
a 5.0 mustang is a 302, however it isn't a 289 bored to a 302 it is stroked (correct?) .. because i know an old 302 i had was a bored 289. And if i have a 289 bored to a 302 and put a 302 crank (from a late model 5.0 ) then it would be a 306 correct? |
302 bored .030 over = 306.

Enigine math my friend:
bore x bore x stroke x number of cylinders x 0.7854 = cubic inches So...4.00 x 4.00 x 3.00 x 8 x 0.7854 = 302 (it's actually 301.5936...but it's rounded) Thus...4.030 x 4.030 x 3.00 8 x 0.7854 = 306 Does that make sense? ------------------ 1984 1/2 GT350 (#842 Hatchback w/ T-tops), 302HO, Comp cams Xtreme Energy cam, Carter 625cfm carb, Weiand Stealth intake, MSD distributor, MSD coil, FMS 9mm wires, 1 5/8" MAC unequal shorties, 2 1/2" MAC Prochamber H-pipe, Flowmaster 2 chambers, KYBs, 16"x8" 4 lug Cobra Rs, Falken 245/45ZR16s |
