Dead pedal in an '86

I recently got a dead pedal for my '86 Mustang. These are usally marked as for '87-'93 cars, but I don't see a reason they shouldn't work in my '86. After all, they were standard equipment in the '84-'86 SVO.

Does anyone have pointers for installation? There are no holes beneath the kick panel, so it seems to be a guessing game. It is hard to judge how it will feel in the car without first bolting in, so I'm looking to hear from someone who has done it before.

Thanks,
Larry

No one responded, but I was able to install by drilling the two small dimples that were in the sheet metal. I didn't see these at first. This positioned the pedal perfectly.
