Low Coolant Light

Hello all, I'm new to the Mustang ownership. I've got a 91 LX 5.0 Convertible. Love it so far and plan on loving it.

Anyone good with Low Coolant Light on dash?? I did a Penzoil radiator flush hoping that would fix the problem, but it didn't. The car doesn't get hot and there doesn't appear to be any coolant leaking. Already changed the thermostat.

Any ideas???

Thanks for any help.

Hey,

4 out of 5 GT's that I have had, had that low coolant light go on all of the time. I'm sure you do not have problem with the cooling system, the problem is that little sensor on the radiator overflow tank goes bad or there is a crack in that tank and it keeps getting low and it will show low coolant even when things are OK.
2 things you could do, 1: Is to find a different tank with a sensor on it or fix the crack if it has one. 2: The easiest and cheapest is to pull the connector off of that tank and just keep an eye on your water temp. Pulling the connector will keep the light off. :D

Just clean the sensor at the end of the overflow cap.

It builds up corrosion and goo, which inhibits conductivity between the terminals.
