Went down to GLD yesterday for their nitrous brawls.
First 2 runs were a waste, so I stepped it up for the 3rd (and final), run.
This was the result.

Bad news is is fried #8 piston. Done for the season.
O well.

No, the motor didn't blow. Just smoked #8 piston.
First run off the trailer it went 9.03.............I smudged that run, not having fans on/didn't stage right, just a horsepoopie attempt.
Frustrated, tried again. (oh yeah, bottle pressure was JUST barely 900 psi).
Anyway, 2nd run, FORGOT (like cenile brain fart), FORGOT to turn on the 2 stage, so when I bopped into the throttle the car surged.......said screw it and ran it anyway. turned a stupid 9.4 (total screwed the pooch that run).

anyway, frustrated, and pissed, threw in a 200 shot (just because), and that was the result. Bent the bejeesus out of the wheelie bars, and smoked the piston.
Hopefully the head's in decent shape (haven't taken it apart yet).

Already got plans for next season tho. At least 100 thou overbore (should pick up some free hp/tq from uhshrouding the valves (i.e. more flow). PLUS more cubes is always good, right?

Gonna be a long winter/off season tho..................:>(

Nice wheel stand! Sucks about the piston though.
