Driveshaft banging the saftey loop?

only on a hard launch on slicks, say a low 1.7 60', It hit, and shredded off some aluminum of the d/s on mountingbolt on the loop:(

Does not hit during regular hard driving? It is the frpp aluminum d/s, I installed it a couple inches behind the tailshaft, and i used the lakewood loop, just for mustangs, I also used the spacers that come with it to make it fit the contour of the floor, the only way it would fit was a little close on the passenger side, but i went ahead with it.
I checked my tranny, and crossmember mounts, everything is tight?

Now my motor mounts are pretty bad, And im going to replace with some vert mounts, I doubt that will solve the problem completely being how hard it hit's now, I really dont want to destroy a 300$ d/s, seems a device made to protect it, is now destroying it.
I dont want to have to re-drill mounting holes, but looks like i might have too, what do you guys think?
thnx.

The aluminum driveshaft is bigger around than the factory driveshaft. I have the same safety loop and mine mounted just like you described.

If it is scraping the mounting bolts I would try grinding down the head of the bolts to gain clearance.

Before I drilled more holes in my car I would cut and modify the safety loop.

I always do away with the bolts all together and weld the loop up. It gives the clearance necessary for the aluminum driveshafts.

Thanx for the reply, I can weld it no problem, but dont i need it to be removeable? or can i just slide out the d/s, if i ever need it out?
Thanx dark, and jeff, I Will try grinding the bolt head first, then i'll remove them if that dont work,
lol, when you hear a loud bang like that on a launch, it can scare the crap outta ya:)

You can slide the driveshaft out with the loop welded in. No need to remove the loop just to take the driveshaft out.
