One kwik question!!!

i need help...
where can i get a free diagram of the stereo wiring for a 1989 lx???
there's no plug on the end of it, and it seems to be having problems!
when i turn the stereo on, it works fine, but no memory.
both power wires only come on when there is power supplied by the ignition. when i turn the lights on, the stereo goes out. ive installed many stereos, and never run into a problem like this. can anyone help me????
oh yeah, no dome lite either, but it works when i hook it to a speaker lead!!!
WTF????

Maybe this will help:

The lack of memory sounds as though who ever hooked up the stereo did not run the constant power wire correctly. It appears as though they put it on a circuit that is activated by the ignition.

Is it aftermarket, or the stock stereo? If aftermarket, I would re-wire the entire thing properly. Hook the yellow wire to a constant 12V source, the red to a ignition source, the black to a ground, and then just wire the speakers accordingly. If it is stock, I would replace it with an aftermarket head unit. If you are just looking for some tunes, a decent cd/mp3 player can be bought for cheap.

I wouldnt run it directly to the battery. Find a fuse in your fuse panel that has constant power, and use that for your 12v constant power.

They're right, i had the same problem when I got my 92 LX and it was a quick fix, reversed the way someone had hooked it up, they had the 12+ to the ACC wire and ACC to the 12+, exact same problem with cutting the lights on and no memory, so that should fix your problem. Tony
