World Products Windsor SR.

Ok, I am sure some of you are getting tired out there of all this aluminum head talk, lol. But...here is the short and sweet of it.

A buddy hooked me up with a guy who is hurting for money and unloading go fast parts. I called him up and he says he has a set of Aluminum World Product Sr. Heads that he would sell for $500.00.

Does anybody have any negative opinions of the World product heads? Quality issues? These are a lot of head for my little 5.0, but would leave some room to grow I guess. Maybe too much head?

My brother had some quality issues with his but it wasnt anything the machine shop couldnt fix. He had World products cast iron chevy heads.

I dont think they are too much head for a 302, my heads are bigger and I still have a pretty damn good torque curve. I have seen the Sr heads go 11's on a 302.

Do it.

they don't flow great out of the box (~225cfm), but they have lots of potential when ported correctly.......sounds like a good deal if they don't need work to bring them up to snuff.

Tmoss-
Would they have the potential to flow better then that with some good porting?

Re: World Products Windsor SR.

I also think they are a good deal if in good shape. My only reservation is if the porting already done is done well. It's easy to do more harm than good with haphazard porting as I know that your are already aware.

I'm not sure about the aluminum, but I had a set of the iron ones, and I tell ya what buddy, I LOVED THEM!

Re: World Products Windsor SR.

Well I went and bought them today for $500. With what I see on Ebay, I am confident I could get my money back if I wanted too.

The heads are box stock, and have very few miles on them. I am considering doing some porting work on them; just don’t know if I want to do it myself this time or have them professionally done. I also just found out the area DYNO is still in business, so come next April I am going to dyno the car as it is, for a general baseline.

I know AFR or Canfield is the way to go. This route allows me to have a better head, shave some weight, and use the rest of the money that I would have spent on the AFR's for my new leaf springs, gauges, and wiring harness.

Thanks guys,
Ryan

Awesome dude! Post us up some pics!

Anyone local to you do porting?

Re: World Products Windsor SR.

There is a guy here locally that is suppose to be very good, but he is a little pricey from what I hear. A few other places I have heard of. Jester, you have anybody in mind?

I will get some pictures up, but this snow has been kicking my rear at work and at home.....so it might be a day or two til I get them up.

ok, so it took me a while to get the pics up

No idea why the green tint popped up in the first pic, musta screwed up my photo editing. Anyway, you all get the idea.

If youre still looking to get them ported Don West in rural Geneseo is real good, but can be considered pricey. Jon Carls in Minonk will give you the best bang for the buck port job, IMO.

You can also pick up a good bit of flow from a competition valve job. Thats where they blend the bowls and unshroud the valves etc...

Re: World Products Windsor SR.

Thanks guys, all of those things will get done to them the next time around. My hopes are with some professional work these heads will support a 331, the dream engine for this car down the road.

Andy-
I didn't have a lot of options for good people to take them to, so more options is great, thanx
