Why does my 5.0 sound so much more rasspier and meanier than the 4.6 with a flowmater 2 chamber?the 4.6 sounds a lot more refined and cleaner...which i dont like at all :rolleyes: but i hear 4.6's all the time and i was just wondering...

Thats the difference in the push rod engine to an over head cam engine. I dont know I love the way the 4.6 sounds It is by far the best sounding modern engine. But then again I love the way my 5.0 full length headers x pipe flowmasters and dumps sound. It is much meanier but the 4.6 sounds great.

They both have distint sound. I love the sound of a cammed 5L at idle, but I think the modular talks more going down the road.

My 87GT with a BBK high flow cat and Dynomax super turbo catback system sounded about as good as it gets to me. My 2002 GT sounded, literally, like school bus at slow speeds. It was the source of disbelief and laughter from my friends when I lurched it along on purpose to prove that point.
