1965 Ac
Hello all from H-Town!
I am looking a buying a 1965 or so Mustang. One question I have is that living in Houston requires that you have a VERY good AC. How is the AC's on older mustang's? Can they be built up to put out some serious chill? Thank you! |
Re: 1965 Ac
65's were all hang on units. Under the dash.
There are some companies out there that change the compressor to a modern one and make them work pretty good. |
Re: 1965 Ac
My '66 came with a hang down unit when new. I don't have it installed now, but it worked well when I did have it in the past. The newer Sanden (sp?) compressors with the newer refrigerant probably work even better. These Conversions are widely available.

Re: 1965 Ac
Guess thats one nice thing about living in Minnesota, though it can/does get hot, not normally too bad to where I cant just roll down the window and go real fast. Snow sucks.

Re: 1965 Ac
Thank you for the responses! I know they make the AC's but are they any good?
Another question I have is Ebay the best way to go for a purchase? I read somewhere that those cars tend to be too expensive. Any thoughts? |
