Could a 10.25to1- 10.5to1 motor live long with 5 PSI of boost?
I know a guy with a relatively newly rebuilt vortech A-trim (that's 5 PSI right?), but I figure that's out of the question for me, 58cc heads, flat tops with like 4cc eyebrows in them.
Or is it????? I just found out he had it today and never planned on putting any boost to it but if it'd live I may do it what do you think? |

Make sure you have a good tune, and theres absolutely no reason why it wouldnt last.

You'll be fine, I know a guy right now that's running 11 to 1 with a 150 shot, still on pump gas, not sure how but like Andy said, it's all in the tuning.

Mach 1's are 10.5 to 1 and lots of them are boosted. Most VTEC Hondas are 11 to 1 and lots of them are boosted.
Its "all" in the tune. You can still run all the boost you want, you will just need a diffrent tune than a low compression motor. |

More compression + boost = more power. As long as you have the octane to support it. With 10.5 you should be fine with 5 psi. Also there is more to it than your static compression ratio. Your dynamic compression ratio is really important here. Not sure what the specs are on your cam or how you have it installed but that'll play a large part in how much boost you can run.
