Nitrous and Blower combo

I was thinking of running a small dry nitrous kit with my supercharger. Its not intercooled and runs kinda hot so I was wondering if anyone has run a similar combo? Ive heard that nitrous with a supercharger will double the effect of the nitrous and to stay small, like a 50 shot. Appreciate any comments and suggestions.

Actually the n2o will have an intercooling affect on the blower. I've read that it actually cools engine temp instead of heating it up like a blower.

Thats what I have heard. The intake charge becomes cooler therefore denser. Is there any drawbacks or problems that anyone has had doing this combo.

I had considered adding a 50 shot to my car as well, its supposed to cool the charge. The only thing thats makes me worry is the stock block, I'm afraid to push it too far.

I've only heard good things about adding n2o to a blown car (although I'm sure something can go wrong, just like w/ any other mod). rbatson - they say that a stock block can take up to 100 shot of nitrous (but they don't tell you how many runs it'll be before you're throwing a 351 in http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif). 50-75 shot would be safe for your stock motor.

A dry nitrous kit is not the way to go on a blown car. The dry kit uses extra fuel pressure at the rails to get the added fuel. Problem is that the blowers FMU already is adding fuel pressure. It can be done with a custom chip by elimintaing the FMU, adding larger injectors, opening up the pulse width of the injectors, and keeping the stock fuel pressure. Then you can add the dry kit on top of that. I would recommend doing all of this on a dyno with a wide band to keep an eye on things.

I'd probably consider an intercooler or running more boost. What kind of supercharger do you have? Superchargers make power by compressing air into the cylinders. And to compress nitrous on top of that, I'd just make sure you don't run lean. Not that a 50 shot is a drastic change. I don't know what your mods are. All I know is the only people I've ever seen combine the two are experinced tuners. Just my two cents. You'll probably be alright but like exgmguy said it makes cents to hook it up to a dyno so you can make sure everything is alright.

Ive been in contact with Mike Murillo to do my dyno tune as soon as the motor is run in. Ill probably wait on the nitrous for a while till I get it tuned right. Thanks guys.
