King Ranch + $65,000 ???????

A patient of mine told me he has been shopping for a new truck. He said that he has recently been quoted a price of $65,000 for a loaded "King Ranch". Now, I wonder why Ford could be in such a financhial squeeze if that could be true? Comments from retailers would be very happily accepeted.

I would be happy to pass better news along to him.

I went to Fordvehicles.com and built an 07 King Ranch with every option available on the site, and it was around $46,000. I would tell him to talk to another dealer. If he is talking about the F250, it very well could be close to that, though $65k is still high.

I believe he was looking at the F-250. I agree that's still awfully high.

For a fully loaded 08 F450 King Ranch 4X4 it would run you in the low $60k range. He definately needs a new dealer. Do you know which one he is currently looking at? I would suggest either Tomball ford or the dealer in Winnie (I believe it is David Self). Either one may be a hike, but the savings might be worth it. When my dad bought his 86 F150 new in 86, he drove to Tomball ford from Baytown and saved over $3000 on the truck.

For some reason big trucks are kinda like Harley's. People will pay a premium to get them, and with Ford despirate for profit, you're not going to see any sweet deals on the optioned up "show trucks." For example, the "chrome package" for the King Ranch adds $3,530 to the price, and the diesel package adds nearly $7,000 between the engine and transmission.

The fact the King Ranch is priced starting $15,000 more than the F-250SD XL is a joke in itself. There isn't an additional $5,000 in cost to build a King Ranch. Like I said, though, people will pay through the nose for it.

It is good for Ford, if he pays $65 for it. Correct?
