Is it worth it?

Any opinions on having a 302 block machined for 1/2" studs? I was thinking of doing this while I was having my block assembled. Is it worth it or should I just run the spacer kit for my AFR heads?

That depends on how much power you plan on making. The rule of thumb I would go by is if you are thinking about O-ringing the heads then you will probably need 1/2" bolts. That's what many of the manufacturers go by as well.

I'm not planning on o-ringing the heads, but I would like to get about 450hp out of the motor NA. And if i'm feeling froggy I am toying with the idea of a 200 shot of nitrous.
