cam help with 2.02 valves!!

I have a stock 91 5.0 HO short block and i have 210cc heads and 2.02 valves and i need a cam with a 3,000-6,250 power band. The cams that i want to run will not clear the pistons. As of, i am settling upon the XE274HR that has a 2200-6200 rpm range and .513/.513 lift with a 1.6 ratio rockers. The duration is 276/282 with 1.7 ratio and i awsume is the same with 1.6 ratio? any suggestions? or, experience? c'mon guys somebody has to have factory unnotched pistons with these valves.
P.S.- i know the 210cc heads are to big for 302 displacement but a 408 will happen in the future.

Re: cam help with 2.02 valves!!

your engine has notched pistons but the notches are not bigg enough for a 202 valve.i think a 190 valve is the biggest with stock pistons.you can buy a tool from isky that cuts a bigger notch in the piston but idk how bad it will mess the balance for the motor.even if you can fit a small cam in it the heads are way big for a 302 thats only reving to 6200.on top of that u better have a good intake t-body massair and exhaust to move the air in and out of the heads.i personally would spend the money on building the 408 .it would be a waste to buy a cam that will be useless to u when ur gonna have to but on for a new motor.the only other thing i can tell you is to take ur old head off and put one of the 210 heads on and use clay to check on how much clearance u have with the stock cam must be .100 or higher
