Motor Options

If all goes well I will be getting a 95 GT with a bad motor. Guy says the crank is broke. I have a 81 302 block if needed. I am in no hurry but anxious to get it running. It will be a second vehicle/toy, am looking at a couple of options.

Build a strong 302 with good internals for future supercharging...for now maybe bigger MAF, cold air intake, Cobra intake..??

Build a 331 stroker...I am researching this now...may supercharge it later on..not sure what H/C/I to use..I have read using factory upper on a stroker lower is useless.

Ideas, input from those who are experienced or know first hand from someone who has done it would be appreciated.

thanks,

Re: Motor Options

IMHO, HP is addictive and if you want to go the blower route, you'll want to do it right the first time, go with a Dart or equavilant block, instead of breaking the stock blocks first, you'll be glad you did.

yea aftermarket bl0ock is a good thing, like a dart plus with an aftermarket block u save around 500 buck in machine work compared to a stock block.i wouldnt do a 302 or a 331.it cost the same to do a 331 or 347.a 306 is a little bit cheaper but not worth it.i wish i would have got a aftermarket block but my 347 holding good with the stud girdle.
