supercharged 86 gt

I have an 86 gt with a bone stock motor plus 1 5/8 headers and a vortech v-1 supercharger.I also have a crane interceptor2 .What I'm looking for are some good baseline settings to start with.Still retains speed density system and running 9lbs of boost.Help would be appreciated!

Hey man!

How's your car run with the Vortech and speed density set-up? I know a guy from Canada that used to have a Paxton blown car with speed density that ran very low 12's(12.166@112mph)

Some baseline settings

1)get some cooler plugs, like autolite 24's or 23's and gap them to .035

2)Timing for my Paxton blown car is set @10 degrees

3)get yourself a fuel pressure gauge,as it's important to know what it is at idle and @ full boost.

4)Did you upgrade your fuel pump?Hopefully you already have with running 9lbs of boost. If you haven't,upgrade to a 255lph fuel pump at least.

Although I appreciate your help, what I'm really looking for are some base line settings for the crane interceptor{pms},to help in fine tuning the car.The car actually runs fine but needs some fine tuning. No idea about 1/4 mile times.Assume high 12's.Car is set-up as a road race car. Thanks for responding anyway. The problem with speed density is that it cannot see boost so you have to trick it.Here's how you can trick it :

Locate your MAP sensor.
It will have a vac line coming off of it. (it may have a T in it along the way to the intake or VAC tree, this is OK).

You want to install a one-way check valve, which you can buy from any autoparts store. Advance Auto / AutoZone / Napa, usually they have them over the counter on a rack with all kinds of VAC accessories. Try to find one close to the size of your MAP sensor vac lines or you will need to buy adapter.

Now that you have that installed. You will need to T the line between the MAP sensor and your newsly installed check valve (which will only let air OUT of the MAP and not in).

Run a piece of VAC line from this T about 6" or whatever lengh will give you access to hold it above the engine (so you can put your finger on it etc).

Go to a Fish store. Yes a tropical fish / Pet store; buy an aquarium air diverter valve. These are sold in different varieties, but you only need to use one valve (most have 1, 2, or 4 valves per unit). They also make screw in, or turn valve type. I am using a screw in type. You want to install this valve on the end of your "T" line.

Start the car.

And play with the valve so it just leaks a tiny bit. If its too OPEN your car will idle rough, if its too closed your engine will cut out during accellerations. You need to bleed in atmospheric pressure during boost.

Good luck

I've already done the mod you stated with the one way check valve.Car idles with no problems at all.Did it a little different though.Just drilled a very small hole on the intake side{I believe, car's not in front of me}.Accelerates fine also.I'll assume that you have a speed density, blown 5.0.What I am really looking for is how to fine tune it with a crane interceptor{PMS}.I'd liked to get some base line adjustments before I fine tune it.What did you do to make any adjustments to fuel and timing.I do appreciate the help.Your check valve version is gives me another option that I didn't think of.Thanks again...HAWK...

Your timing and your fuel will be just like a mass-air car. My timing is set at 10 and the fuel management do the rest of the job.My next step will be to swap the injectors ,run more boost and keep the speed density. Can someone help me?
