My Pheonix Retro? cobra jet swap kit?

I had recently bought a 1993 Ford Mustang LX Convertible with a 2.3 Liter engine from a neighbor who didn't realize he needed to replace the spark plugs for his system to come back online. He replaced the transmission from a junkyard, and had done nothing to it since. I went through the system and replaced the spark plugs....ALL Eight of them! I went for a road trip and was crippled on the offramp due to engine fire emminating from the cat and tranny. The engine burned to a crisp! I'd like to rebuild the"Pheonix" with a 302 CI, but would prefer to go Cobra. I think it's a 427 Cobra jet, I could be wrong. Can it be done? Where can I find a swap kit for even a 302?
I need supermongus help! Please help me resurrect a fire struck Mustang, and let the Ghost Mustang Ride!

the 5.0 swap is a simple bolt in,ur best bet would be to get a doaner car with an engine tranny and rearend.you can do the swap in a few days.the rearend in ur car now is the small one,the brakes are smaller ,radiator is smaller, the gauge cluster should be changed as well cuz the tach wont work right.the best and cheapest way is to get a doaner car every tho its a basic swap theres alot of stuff to do if u wanna do it right.if u wanted to do a cobra jet they make swap kits in summit to put bigblock in but if its not gonna be a race car dont bother with a bigblock.u can get alot of power out of a stock bottom end 302
