losing charge

Im having major problems keeping my car charged. I just upgraded the altenator to one out of a 95 mustang and had the battery tested and thats fine too. Ill jump my car to get it started and it will run fine but sometimes at an idle it will start to die. Also once i shut off the car all the juice is lost. Can anyone give me some ideas what to do. Thanks

My first guess would be the alternator. Once your car is running, pull the positive cable off the battery. If it dies, it's the alternator. If it doesn't the alternator is still putting out something. Maybe it's not totally dead yet.
