Too much oil (a bad thing)?
If U put too much engine oil in your car and U ran it down the strip W/O for 3 passes, and on the last pass U find that U no longer have pressure, what might be the first thing to look for after hearing clattering noises, when pulling off on the return lane, and immediatly stopping. just was wondering because that's exactly what happened to me.

Too much oil would create excessive pressure, and could blow out the bypass valve. Do you still have no pressure?

I heard from another member on the board that too much oil will cause some foaming which will cause less lubrication. Is this true?

The only foaming of oil I have seen has been from introducing air into the oil, either from being to low, allowing air to enter the pick-up, or from a blown head gasket. I'm not saying too much oil wouldn't cause it, but I haven't seen it happen.

A normal oil level will be below the crankshaft throws. Too much oil could cause aeration of the oil by the crankshaft splashing in the oil as it rotates. This makes it foamy, and the pick-up is pulling in some air and not pure oil, causing a loss of engine lubrication.
