Throttle body cleaning tips???

I pulled my T.B. off and it's really dirty... lots of oily carbon..Whats causing this? Can I clean the T.B. with brake cleaner? I have removed the Throttle air bypass valve but not the T.P.S.,, Any ideas?

Brake cleaner will work Spray it and let it soak for awhile and then spry it more it should come right off.

Cool, thanks Eh! Why is all oily and gross? Any ideas?

The oil is coming from the crank case vent tube via the oil filler spout. It gets dumped in front of the throttle plate and accumulates as carbon and oil. I use an old toothbrush along with throttle body or carb cleaner to get the crud off.
