stall speed
I just got a lentech street terminator plus with a 3200 stall speed on a 9.5" converter but there does not seem to be any spooling of the converter at all. The unit came with the converter on the input shaft and was set at the shop. Why does the converter have no stall?

Whatdaya mean it won't stall? If you're trying to stall it up off the brakes, then you may never see stall since your brakes won't be able to hold the car. The only real way is to stall it up on the transbrake (if you've got one).
I'm only making about 340-350RWHP in my '90GT and I can't footbrake the car up past about 2300 before it starts pushing through. But on the transbrake, I can bring it up to the full 5200 stall point in little more than a second or two. The actual stall rpm for your converter will be dependent on the HP & TQ your car's making. Though rated at 3200, it may vary a few hundred rpm, depending on the motor combination. If you're still convinced something's wrong, give Len a call and explain the situation. He'll take care of ya if there is a problem. ------------------ Jeff Chambers Trophy Stock #3 11.462 Seconds / 117.43 MPH Chambers Racing Team |
