ANOTHER wheel question...
On a 95 GT, what is the best way to have the rear wheel well filled out? Spacers, what size - are they safe/secure? Or backspacing on new rims? I have the stock 17" "6 spokes" now, and am starting to be sick of the almost 3 inch gap between the tire edge and wheel well edge.

Weld recommends no more than a 1/4" spacer, I don't think that will help you. I used spacers on the rear when I had the McCrearys on once, I just didn't feel real safe with them so I took them off. I have to use them on the front with my new 15x6 welds, the 15x6s rub a small part of the brakes without it.
What size tire do you have on the back? Just curious.. |

Call me old school, but I kinda like having all the same wheel sizes. However, if the 10.5 will fill it out, I may try it. With the 10.5, do I need to remove the quad shocks?

10.5" fills them out just fine. Even about 1.5-1.7" lowered you shouldn't have to do any modifications to fit them. And IMHO those cobra R wheels look damn good.
I would also like to have f/r swappable tires, old school or not, but with those 245's on 8" wide wheels those rear fenders just look so empty. Spacers are not an option. |
