Trick Flow heads???

Is anyone here running trick flow heads? If so how are they? Are they worth the money, is there something better for the money out there?

I run them on my street car and on my race car, they work great. The heads come complete, and are the best priced head on the market. We sell them for 989, and they work great.

I think they are the most versatile head on the market. You'll find them on everything from a low 9-second Street Renegade car to a mild 13-sec bolt-on car with equal success. There's alot of growing room with the heads.

Stock for stock the TFS Street Heat heads outflow names such as Edelbrock, World Products, Holley, and Brodix just to name a few. They feature small combustion chamber to keep the compression ratio up, and are a good name company. Plus they are the least expensive aluminum head on the market.

The least expensive, but do require custom hardened pushrods, and will not work with stock rockers or valve covers (unless you feel like grinding away the inside of your stock ones). You should be upgrading this stuff if you want to race the car anyway.

I run TFS heads with a mild port job.

I have them on my car too and their great for the price. Might as well get them o-ringed in case you get or have a supercharger or Nitrous.

Get some afr's, yea exgmguy beat me to it, my friend is paying some major $$ for some Tf's that require what exgmguy said, plus his cam wont work with it, so now he is having to order new pistons, and all sorts of other stuff, but of course they are probaly the most popular aluminums used in race and street applications. 1,100$ out of the box before they need machine work down here.

Don't o-ring them. Your choice at that point, blow a head gasket, or blow a piston. If you have it tuned right neither. If you don't I'd rather swap the head gasket.

You can find them from Magazine's for under $1000.

While at the shop today having my new driveshaft installed and tailshaft leak repaired, the owner (a VERY reputable, well known Mustang shop)said that the TFS heads are the best bang for the buck head on the market. He also said that a Cobra manifold would be just as good, or maybe a Performer. But, the RPM, Trick FLow Street Heat, etc., are too much for a basically stock with bolt on motor. Just some info I thought I'd pass on. There was a 95 GT, N/A on the chassis dyno there today and it was making 300 RWHP with iron GT40 heads and a Cobra intake. There's a little proof these parts work.

Well the gt-40 and cobra intk are made for eachother, so 300 hp isnt surprising, he probaly had it all ported, but maybe not, good luck with your choice.

1BAD89 09-06-2001 05:57 PM

Yeah I had them on a 69 camaro and I can't praise them enough. Now I have another set and I love them. But if you were going to buy the trick flow heads, I think you might as well buy the trick Flow intake! It flows better than the Cobra, and Trick Flow works better with Trick Flow, you know?
